The product is always from the market and fresh; they declare themselves to be staunch enemies of precooked and frozen products.

Many of us shouted with joy when the decision was taken to pedestrianize Blanquerna street. For some time now, the street has become the epicenter of fervent activity. Cars no longer drive on this pollution-free road. On the other hand, people crowd around the many terraces that warm up an always lively atmosphere. We have just left the Rata Corner bookstore, where we received a ten euro discount on the last book we purchased. We also went to the Fundació Deixalles second-hand store and then, in the middle of the lunch hour, we went to Raimundo Burger because we have a reservation that we can't even think of missing.
Raimundo's letter of introduction is made up of a string of awards and good reviews. For a couple of years almost in a row - 2018 and 2020 - two of its delicacies were decorated with the first prize of The Battle of Burgers: La Francesa (French) and La Canadiense (Canadian). With those accolades on our minds, our mouths water along the way until Raimundo restaurant is in front of us. Right from the start, the waiters are most charming and helpful. We had to make a phone call because there was a possibility that we might be a little late. By all means, they told us that there was no problem; they even suggested we order our food in advance in case the kitchen was to be closed. Finally, we managed to arrive on time because we wanted to enjoy the banquet as long as we could.
Raimundo Burger on Blanquerna street is somewhat more spacious than the one in Plaza Raimundo Clar, but both have the same aesthetic resemblance: a patina of white paint colors a brick wall when you enter the premises; the rest of the interior is a tribute to the style that is fashionable in most burger bars: industrial, ruled by black ceilings, walls and columns. From our table, seated on a part of the floor with hydraulic tiles, we can see the large terrace of this second establishment that opened its doors in July last year. Its slogan says it all: "nou local, mateixes burgers". That they maintain the same culinary spirit in their new premises is an achievement that we celebrate by closing our fist under the table, lest we draw too much attention to ourselves. Raimundo's menu is short because this is the only way to enhance their burgers, made with minced beef from Galician veal. The product is always from the market and fresh; they declare themselves to be staunch enemies of precooked and frozen products. And we, lovers of good food, agree with this credo.
The burgers in which they have specialized in Raimundo are seven. Six of them have been dubbed with a nickname. Apart from the two winners we have already praised above, we also have La Mexicana, La Italiana , La Argentina and La Americana. The only one that does not fall into any country because its flag does not understand any country, is the vegan, an option that makes those who do not eat meat and those of us who like to try other things, smile. However, for us, La Mexicana falls from the sky. That is to say: one hundred and eighty grams of rare veal that, when bitten, offers a pinkish tone inside. The flavor of this meat, free of preservatives and colorants, is intense. We chew it slowly because we have a sweet tooth. The brioche bun, sprinkled with lightly toasted black sesame seeds harvested in Mallorca, joins in marriage with the caramelized texture of the meat. This burger is a wonder that doesn't say no to cheese, combining cheddar with feta without complexes. The red onion and guacamole - remember, its origin is Mexican - give it a subtle and fresh bite. All accompanied by a half portion of sweet potatoes sprinkled with lime and potatoes sprinkled with rosemary. A perfectly balanced fantasy.
