Now we understand why brunch is so fashionable. If it's always like the one they prepare at Doble, who can resist it?

Savory bites and sweet delights. Juices, smoothies and cocktails. A la carte or as a set menu. Almost everything is allowed in a brunch, that fusion between breakfast and lunch that, they say, dates back to the 19th century, when British high society made it fashionable. And the truth is that, to us, this space of indulgence and pleasure, which we always associate with a relaxed Sunday, seduces and enchants us -any day of the week-.
With the purpose of delighting ourselves with a yet unknown proposal, we went to Esporles on a sunny January morning. In a space of minimalist but cozy aesthetics, the light comes through the windows and makes the white that reigns in the place really shine. We have just entered Doble Coffee and, on our way to the bar, we find ourselves at a display with good Travel to Zero friends: the natural bars made in Lloseta by Megaraw Bar and the handmade printed T-shirts by Molta Muntanya. This is looking good.
We choose a table under the hanging pots - we love green - and watch the clientele, which consists basically of people typing away on their laptops and small groups chatting away. In the meantime, rock classics of all times sound and setting a nice background to the scene:
Scar Tissue, by Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Have you ever seen the rain? by Creedence Clearwater Revival, provide the soundtrack. An unbeatable musical thread to lift one's mood. Doble's menu seduces us at first glance: assorted toasts, llonguets -we love llonguets, too-, pancakes, natural juices, beers -among them, the neighboring Sullerica- and specialty coffee. While we discover a little corner for the little ones -with toys and paintings- we pay attention to the waitresses, who serve the clientele without pause and with a contagious smile.
When it's our turn, we place the order: an orange, ginger and carrot juice -which we can already tell tastes great- and a cappuccino that suits us perfectly: frothy and tasty, the coffee is from the Barcelona brand Hidden. For lunch, we order some sourdough bread toasts (hard to resist) with tomato, arugula, almond pesto, warm burrata and caramelized onion. The proposal is already succulent by itself, but to round it off, we decide to add a poached egg.
Delighted, we order an English Muffin with eggs Benedict, hollandaise sauce and bacon and, if that's not enough, we top it off with gluten-free pancakes with seasonal fruit (banana and blueberry), raspberry jam and maple syrup. All the dishes arrive with an impeccable and pampered presentation, and every bite tastes delicious. Now we understand why brunch is so fashionable. Doble presents itself as a café that is committed to fair trade and respect for the environment. A place where values govern daily choices. In fact, that's why we decided to come here. Its philosophy translates into succulent dishes, good music, a contemporary and pet friendly space, very good service and a menu that invites you to come back.
The Mallorcan toast, with tomato, spinach, almonds, dates and amaretto with homemade tomato jam and the llonguet of camaiot and brie cheese have winked at us. The menu also extends to lunch and dinner. We also love the double coffee, so we will surely meet again very soon in Esporles.
