We read two breakfast options that share a common denominator, both local and seasonal: the fig - and how we love it!

In the idyllic and incomparable setting of Biniaraix - a small village of just over four hundred inhabitants belonging to Sóller - there is a winery that bears its name. We go there one summer day for breakfast because we have been told that the berenars in this magical place have a special charm.
After strolling aimlessly through the narrow cobbled streets of the town, in an overwhelming calm, we arrive at the Plaça de la Concepció, a little corner sheltered in the shade of a huge plane tree. Here we find the Bodega de Biniaraix, which offers an extremely careful menu in which fresh and natural products, zero kilometer, are the protagonists. A cozy bar located in an old rustic house is waiting for us.
Once inside, we find shelves full of Dos Alquemistas teas and infusions. In fact, Katja and Kate, the founders of this project, are the owners of the winery. Dos Alquemistas products coexist with Maüa chocolates, bottles of wine and a sweet aroma that quickly catches our attention. It comes from a long table where, in full view of the public, the employees prepare homemade sweets. Simple but cozy, we are enchanted by the indoors space, but we still decide to make ourselves comfortable on the beautiful terrace. Let's take advantage of the good weather before winter comes!
Once seated, we discover some blackboards dictating the recommendations of the day: banana bread, the classic scones and a nut and fruit focaccia. Tempting. On another board, we read two breakfast options that share a common denominator, local and seasonal: figs - and how much we love them! The first option is a sandwich with Manchego cheese with Uco bread and kimchi -which they prepare in the cellar when we arrive- or date and fig chutney or sobrasada; the second, granola with yogurt, pomegranate, plum and fig, of course.
Ready to enjoy, we order both and have the sandwich with a Rosa Blanca and the chutney with a kombucha of the Isla brand, made by the owner of the Brut restaurant, although later we see that in the Bodega de Biniaraix they also serve the very special Adalt, the artisan beer from Palma whose microbrewery we were lucky enough to get to know first hand.
Enthusiastic about the breakfasts that arrive at our table, we taste them with our senses wide awake under the umbrellas of the terrace of the Bodega de Biniaraix where, as in a tower of Babel, conversations in multiple languages coexist in harmony with the absolute calm of the place. As if no one wanted to break the tranquility that inhabits the village, despite the numerous diners, peace continues to reign throughout the breakfast.
The sandwich is simply delicious: crispy bread on the outside but spongy on the inside - just as we like it - and a spectacular but balanced contrast between the powerful flavor of the Manchego cheese and the sweetness of the seasonal chutney. In addition, to finish off the combination, between bites we tasted olives trencades, which come with the dish. The granola, also homemade, crunches in our mouth and blends perfectly with the slightly bitter taste of the yogurt. Well blended, we can't help but love the proposal.
The menu displayed at the entrance shows us that the Bodega de Biniaraix is also a perfect place to have a good vermouth and a dish of the day: its offer of appetizers, as well as sangria, cava and wine is extensive. We will have to return, as we were charmed by the hospitality of the staff and the place, with views of the Serra de Tramuntana, is an enclave worth getting lost in -to find yourself-.
