Thanks to Marc and Diego, two great friends, La Romaguera was born, a signature tapas restaurant ready to transport us to other places and delight us with their creations.

It is well known that Sóller is one of the most charming villages of our beloved island. And it is not for nothing. One of the most obvious reasons is its unique location, the vall, completely embraced by the majestic Serra de Tramuntana, which leaves us an idyllic picture that enchants everyone who visits the village. The olive groves and above all the orange and lemon trees are the main actors of an unparalleled spectacle for the eye. But in addition to the location, we also love the wide variety of projects that are developed in the area and that are run with love and passion by local people.
This is the case of La Romaguera, a restaurant located in the heart of the village, in one of the most picturesque streets of the place, which shares its name with the business. This place opened its doors not long ago and was born from the union of two great friends, Marc and Diego, who joined forces to bring forward their idea: to create, with high quality products, some magnificent signature pinchos. As you can imagine, with this premise, we had no choice but to pay them a visit and try some of their creations ourselves. We already had an excuse to go back to Sóller (if you ever need one to go there).
We arrive on a sunny day during the week, the activity in the town is frenetic, visitors in every corner. We head without further delay to our meeting point. Upon arrival, we can see that the photos did not lie and that the street, where the terrace of the local is located, is also very flirtatious. There we meet Joaco, a really nice waiter who will be serving us today. We confirm that it is our first time in the restaurant so he tells us that the menu is made up of tapas where quality is more important than large quantities and he recommends eating 3 per person. So we can't help but do as he says. We also take the opportunity to order a large cold water along with it.
While we wait, we realize that the street is very busy, a coming and going of people at all times, and being close to the center, we hear the streetcar passing by. That's when the first of the dishes arrives at our table: large mussels, tasty and perfectly cooked, marinated with Thai red curry, coconut and coriander. A slightly spicy sauce, which will delight those of us who love strong flavors, but that is not an impediment for everyone to try it. An enjoyment to start with.
The second of the tapas is composed of gyozas stuffed with candied mushrooms with truffle cream and crispy basil, all wrapped in a homemade and thin dough, not at all cloying and well cooked. The aroma of the truffle floods the table, but does not detract from the flavor of the other ingredients. Very interesting the crispy basil pincho, a distinctive and tasty touch to take between bites. And finally, the Iberian Pig, a fluffy bao bread, like a cloud, filled with candied Iberian bacon, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, which melted in the mouth, accompanied by tartar sauce, shiso leaf and topped with pickled onion. Flavors that blended perfectly, without taking away each other's prominence and watered with a thick and light sauce.
When we finished, we realized that Joaco was right, 3 is just the right amount to satisfy one's hunger and to be able to taste a little bit of everything. We thank him for his attention and we leave satisfied with our choice and with one more restaurant on our list of must-tries. We wish them all the luck in the world and hope to return real soon.
