If there is one thing we can be proud of in our country, it is the quantity and variety of bars and restaurants that can be found in every city or town. We have the traditional ones, the ones we call "de toda la vida", where the residents from the neighborhood or the village meet, the parishioners, the usuals. There are those on the side of the secondary roads, where "if you see trucks parked outside, the food is good", or at least, that is what my parents used to say. Some specialize in tapas, others in rice dishes, variats or breakfasts.  In short, there is a bar for each of us and for every day.

In a town as busy and visited as the one of Sóller, this variety was not going to be less. And there are many who throughout the year and especially in the summer period, decide to stop by to discover all that this town has to offer. We decided to do the same, and we went for a walk to discover some of its corners, such as the botanical garden or the agricultural cooperative of Sóller. After a morning of walking, it was time to choose a place to eat and rest a little.

We could have decided for one of the many restaurants that are located in the Plaza de la Constitución, with an extensive and varied menu, but our idea was clear, we wanted something more local, more "village" style. And we found it. Walking a little further away from the center, we arrive at Do de Pit. A tavern located in the Plaza de America. The place is not very big, but it has open windows overlooking the square that serves as a terrace. We ask if there is room for two, and the waitress, who welcomes us with a big smile, confirms so, inviting us to choose the table we like best.

We sit down as she brings the menu and we order our drinks: a coke and an orange Puig. From the menu we can highlight the great variety of tapas and portions for all tastes - it also includes a vegan option - a selection of salads and hamburgers. As one of us was hungrier than the other, we ordered a tapa, a portion of fries and their homemade hamburger. While we wait for our food to be delivered, we strike up a conversation with the table next to us, who are accompanied by their dog (the place is pet friendly). Soon everything we had ordered arrives. What stands out the most, without detracting from the rest, is the hamburger.

One of those that we like, chubby, where the ingredients protrude from the bun and it is necessary to place a long toothpick so that it does not fall apart on the way to the table. It comes with a generous portion of potatoes and two small tubs with the classic ketchup and mustard sauces. 150 gr of veal, on a bed of lettuce, green sprouts and a slice of tomato. Topped with goat cheese and caramelized onion. As expected - and this is the best part! - from the first bite, all the juices of the meat dripped, meaning it was at the perfect point of cooking. A tasty and hearty burger, which will delight the most cheese lovers (which is our case).

I, the less hungry one, get ready to give account of my order: a good portion of crispy and tasty fries and a tapa of croquettes with cheese and caramelized onion (we already warned you, we are dairy lovers). Obviously homemade, nothing to open the bag and straight to the fryer, with a very good and not at all cloying filling and with a touch of strawberry jam on top. Incredible as it may seem, we still have room for dessert. The fine apple tart, accompanied by vanilla ice cream, nuts and caramel, catches our attention. A delicious delicacy to, together with a coffee with milk, close a great meal.

We say goodbye with the satisfaction of having found a different place, with an interesting culinary proposal and a great atmosphere. We are sure that, in our next visits, we will repeat the experience.
